Description

Novamox® Rediuse is manufactured by Cipla.

Novamox® Rediuse raw material is Amoxicillin – an bactericidal beta-lactam antibiotic belonging to the Aminopenicillins drug class.

Novamox® Rediuse has shown a greater efficacy in the treatment of children with severe cases of pneumonia compared to treatment with Co-trimoxazole. In addition, Novamox® Rediuse is often used as an adjuvant in the treatment for Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).

Other indications:

- infections of the ear, nose, and throat;

- genitourinary tract infections;

- skin and soft tissue infections;

- lower respiratory tract infections;

- urethritis;

- Gonorrhea, acute uncomplicated (anogenital and urethral infections);

- Helicobacter pylori eradication.

Being a bactericidal drug, Novamox® Rediuse will not be effective against viral infections like common cold or flu, or for yeast infection.

MOA (mechanism of action):

Amoxicillin is effective against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp. (except strains producing penicillinase), Streptococcus spp; aerobic gram-negative bacteria: Neisseria Gonorrhoeae, Neisseria Meningitidis, Escherichia Coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp. Amoxicillin kills the bacteria by attacking their cell wall. Amoxicillin prevents the synthesis of a substance in the cell wall called peptidoglycan, which fortifies the bacteria cell walls, allowing them easily survive in a human body.

Dosage

Shake Novamox® Rediuse before use.

Carefully measure the dose using a special measuring spoon. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose.

Do not mix Novamox® Rediuse with water.

For children aged 5-10 years, RDA is 250 mg per 5 ml.

For children aged 2-5 years, RDA is 125 mg per 5 ml.

For children aged under 2 years, RDA is 20 mg/kg.

Take Novamox® Rediuse at evenly spaced intervals (at least 4 hours apart) – at the same times each day.

Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually every 8 or 12 hours. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.

General piece of advice:

Try to consume plenty of fluids while taking Novamox® Rediuse.

Treatment course must continue 48-72 hours after the disappearance of clinical signs of disease, with streptococcal infections – 10 days.

Stopping taking Novamox® Rediuse suddenly or too early may not kill bacteria resulting in a return of the infection.

During the treatment course, it is necessary to control the state functions of hematopoiesis, liver and kidneys.

Missing a dose

If you miss a dose you should take it as soon as you remember about your missing. If it is the time for the next dose you should continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of Novamox® Rediuse to compensate the missed dose.

Overdose

If an overdose occurs and you are not feeling well, stop taking the medication immediately. You should seek emergency medical attention or contact your healthcare provider immediately.

Storage

Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F) and away from excess moisture and heat. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date. Keep out of the reach of children.

Side effects occurrence does not only depend on the medication you are taking, but also on your overall health and other factors.

Contraindications

Do not take Novamox® Rediuse if you are allergic to Amoxicillin or to other antibiotics of the Penicillins.

Do not take Novamox® Rediuse if you are allergic to any other ingredients comprised in Novamox® Rediuse.

Do not take Novamox® Rediuse if you have a history of severe allergic reactions associated with using antibiotics.

Do not take Novamox® Rediuse if you are allergic to Nitroimidazole and its derivatives.

Do not take Novamox® Rediuse if you have infectious mononucleosis, lymphatic leukemia, severe gastrointestinal infections, accompanied by diarrhea or vomiting, respiratory viral infection, allergic diathesis, bronchial asthma, hay fever.

Do not take Amoxicillin in combination with Metronidazole if you have disease of the nervous system; hemodyscrasia, lymphocytic leukemia, infectious mononucleosis.

Do not take Amoxicillin in combination with Clavulanic Acid if you have a history of instructions for liver problems and jaundice, associated with the reception of Amoxicillin in combination with Clavulanic Acid.

Consult your doctor before taking Amoxicillin if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
